Ever feel like the skies are getting a little too crowded? Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos certainly do, and they're not shy about sharing their air travel woes! On a recent episode of Live With Kelly & Mark, the dynamic duo aired their grievances, offering a relatable peek into the often-turbulent world of air travel.
Mark kicked things off, advising viewers to prioritize early boarding, a strategy he's clearly mastered. "The sooner you get on the likelier you are to have space in the overhead bin directly above your seat," he stated. But here's where it gets controversial... He then launched into a critique of airline boarding policies, highlighting the tiered system that often leaves the average passenger scrambling for space. "By the time you get on the plane, all the stuff's gone, all the overhead. I was very annoyed. It was very annoying," he lamented.
Then, Kelly Ripa shared her own in-flight drama, which involved a particularly bold passenger. She recounted an encounter where a man, seemingly vying for overhead bin dominance, placed his suitcase atop her backpack. "I put my backpack in the overhead, and the man that was sitting in front of me came on board... and he put his suitcase on top of my backpack, which I felt was aggressive," she explained. After moving his bag, she considered it a "weird flex." This isn't the first time the couple has encountered baggage-related issues.
And this is the part most people miss... Mark has a history of taking matters into his own hands, even famously "shaming" a fellow passenger into stowing their bag under the seat. Ripa recalled a time when Mark took a man's bag out and put it between his legs. "Mark took it out, put it between his legs, put my suitcase up there, and he goes, 'Is this somebody's bag?'"
